Use: Increase user engagement by making images more interactive; add advertising links to images and make advertising more interactive
ThingLink allows users to add links, audio, video, photos, e-commerce, tag descriptions and more to images and to share the image directly from inside the graphic. In April, The Washington Post used a pre-release version of the app to cover the White House Correspondent’s Dinner. The ThingLink app is also available in Facebook and Twitter and offers a WordPress plug-in.
In addition to enhancing news content, media could use the technology to provide more value to advertiser content by embedding various multimedia elements (including e-commerce) directly into ads.
